‘ What was that?! Who are you? What is happening? Yes to cookies and berries.’ Maybelle responded, shaken by what had just happened.
"What? No 100-year-old pie?" Melani's face fell.
‘ Apple pie has a weird texture.’ Maybelle responded.
Melani nodded. "True. Especially when it's crawling with maggots, I suppose."
‘ Yes. The maggots do ruin it even more, wait, maggots?! That’s disgusting!’
Melani shrugged. "They add some protein."
‘ Are you one of those weird magic people? Do you guys eat maggots? That’s disgusting.’
Melani laughed. "No, not usually, but sometimes your starving, so you have no choice." She froze. "Wait...your not gifted?"
‘ Uhm no. I don’t hunt gifted people, don’t worry. I’m against hunting the magic people.’ Maybelle was worried how the nice girl would respond. Would she kill me because I’m a human? Would she leave me out here to die? Maybe I shouldn’t of told the truth...
