This guy was my favorite. A great show bird, he was gentle, never crowed and he even sat on a nest with a broody hen for a month. Unfortunately, he has had worsening neuro problems which led to progressive loss of mobility, balance and the ability to even sit upright. I eventually had to put him in a brooder cage so that we could check him several times a day and put him upright in front of his food and water. Last week a possum grabbed his fluff thru the cage and ripped off a big chunk of skin. Although we treated him with antibiotics and thought that he might pull thru, he kept getting thinner and weaker each day. I thought about culling him, but as long as he was able to eat and drink, I was willing to help him do so. Pour guy finally died this morning. My sister's grandkids named him Mr.Fluffy. He was a great lap chicken.

The night before a show.

You have some wonderful pics to remember him by (besides the eternal happy memories in your heart). Take care Chel. :aww
