we currently have this waterer http://www.tractorsupply.com/livestock/poultry-feed-feeders/5-gallon-poultry-fountain-2167191
as
well as 2 of the smaller waterers. (the 2 small are in the coop for night etc and this larger one is outside in the run)
I don't know if I really like the metal one... I can't put my finger on just why not But I don't love it.
I was thinking of getting a plastic one similiar to this one http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?mpe_id=12075&cm_cr=No+Campaign-_-Web+Activity-_-Cross+Sell+Up+Sell-_-ProductDetail_Espot1-_-1+Gallon+Poultry+Drinker&catalogId=10001&productId=34414&evtype=CpgnClick&intv_id=15001&langId=-1&storeId=10551&ddkey=http:ClickInfo

Can
anyone tell me the pros or cons to the plastic and/or the metal.
What do you use? Are they other options? I guess I was looking for some advice before I made the decision. Their water is always changed etc, just looking for opinions I guess. Thanks!!!!!

Because I use ACV in my chickens water, I don't use the metal at all.

I have a 3gal plastic in the coop, and a 2gal plastic, similar to your 2nd link, outside.

I did have the galvanized type, but I find the plastic so much better. Its easier to clean. The ACV also helps keep it clean.

Hope that helps.

that is helpful. I think i may change out or at least add maybe one or two more. I like having multiple smaller waterers placed throughout. No fighting for water.
