Hi I am building my first coop and was wondering what is a good size for the chickens door.
The hen house is about 4x4x4 feet . (see bryans coop, that is what I am imitating)

And also, how many chickens would you recomend for the area given. I am not yet sure how big the run will be, but I am thinking about 10'x10'. maybe. Thanks for any help guys

Trevor

oh yeah, I live in GA where the temps barely get into the teens in the winter. (sometimes) How far should I go to keep them warm during the cold.........month.

Each chicken needs about 4 sq. feet each so your coop is big enough for 4 standard hens or 3 hens and a rooster. The door, I would guess needs to by at least 12" x 12".
