We have egg confirmation! Not laid in a nest box but rather right on the floor in the coop. Congrats to Queenie! I feel like I should take her out for an ice cream sundae the way my mom did for me on one fateful day when I was 12. But maybe with oyster shell instead of ice cream.

Congrats on the egg!

Thank you! It's funny because yesterday I heard what was pretty unmistakably an egg song, dropped what I was doing and ran out to the coop and found no sign of any egg anywhere. We didn't hear anything of the sort this morning, though, my spouse just spotted the egg as we were caring for our injured pullet (not Queenie). I'm guessing she's just sorting all this egg business out in her own head at the moment, eggs songs, strong desires to eat calcium-containing things, etc.

Oh, uh... and before I forget, she's now between 17 and 18 weeks of age.
