Oh.Such is life
Here's Hedwig now! Born around March 15th so close to 9 weeks old. Palest of pink/practically flesh colored comb and no thin saddle feathers.I'm thinking pullet too, that is a lot of red but it's more spread out than what would scream cockerel.
Around 9 weeks old now. Definitely thinking pullet. I added recent pictures. The coloration says it's definitely a cockerel.
We used to have an Easter Egger named Hedwig! She looked pretty similar to yours but we got her when she was a pullet so I'm no help with the question at hand.Helllllo! I'm typically pretty good at sexing but I'm at a loss with this now 7 week old Easter Egger. Of course it's my favorite so it will inevitably be a cockeral right?
I don't see any saddle feathers and those penciled hackle are always harder for me. So I guess it's the comb that I need help on. Meet Hedwig!
Still thinking cockerel. But a late bloomer.Around 9 weeks old now. Definitely thinking pullet. I added recent pictures.
I see no male saddle feathers, no red comb, no sickle feathers and not very pointed hackle feathers.. why do you think cockeral? Genuinely curious.Yep, he's a definite boy, sorry.
Fair enough! Beautiful either way.Still thinking cockerel. But a late bloomer.
The size of the comb (compare it to the pullet behind him), the large feet, and the feather coloration.I see no male saddle feathers, no red comb, no sickle feathers and not very pointed hackle feathers.. why do you think cockeral? Genuinely curious.
Thanks for the explanation. I've only had EE pullets so I haven't seen an EE cockerel develop. Once Hedwig grows up I'll post new pics. The size of the comb (compare it to the pullet behind him), the large feet, and the feather coloration.
