The Duck Thread

That's what is in Blue Kote and yes is safe for ducks. Great news about duckies feet not being bumble. I hope Lily foot gets better quick.

I Don't think It would really be fair to the runners to keep the pen split any other suggestions?
Well other than enlarging the original pen and keeping them separate no, except just give them more time to get use to each other. They may never be best buds but as long as the Runners leave then alone that maybe the best you get.

Here are my 4 ducks! (from left to right) Bubble (gum), Jake, Marcy, and in the back Finn.

Hey everyone! I'm new to all this so ill start with a question. I used to have 4 peakon ducks(forgive the spelling) and we don't live on a farm. We raise birds then give them away. Just for fun. But I wanted to keep these ducks and they got really messy I had to give them away. :( does anyone have any suggestions to keep ducks clean with out cleaning them every day?? I used pelleted bedding but they wanted to eat it. So I put water on it to make it expand and turn into more like dust bedding. It got really messy!! And I had to giv them a bath every day to every other day. So is there a way around it? Or are they just outside birds? :(

There is not a way to keep from cleaning every day or two while they are in the brooder. For the most part they are out side bird

Ducks require daily care, including some kind of cleanup. While ours were in doors in the brooder, that meant about three times a day. Now they are adults, I do room service for their night pen, 15 minutes a day, plus every week or three a big cleanup that takes an hour.

The outdoor pen prep can take from 20 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the weather.

That's daily.

Some people keep indoor ducks, and they have to set up a system that makes it easy to clean up, but they still need to clean up.

Even my cats need to have their litter box spruced up every day.
