The Duck Thread

@Sarkchick We're lucky with having stone floors, easier to clean up after a duck ;-) We are also lucky in that the property we take care of is large so she, and the other ducks and chickens, have lots of room to roam. She prefers outside, except at nap time, and we encourage her being outdoors so we don't have to clean up after her. Nap time she heads straight for her pillow, (which we normally cover with a towel but can also simply wash in a pinch). We generally only diaper her on days she wants to be indoors more than normal. She really doesn't like wearing it, and fidgets constantly if she has to have it on. I think though I am lucky in that, being a small duck, there is possibly less to clean up. That and we never feed her lettuce (her drug of choice) indoors. Ewwwwww!

:love okay I am in love... and   @Julie Bird
really needs to see this adorable amount of cuteness  in 2 tiny burbslings.
HOOPOOSE, THANK YOU, MISS LYDIA for the tag. I squeeeeed at the full frontal shot of baby burbling all round with his webs firmly planted in place. His striped feets. If it weren't for his obvious webs I'd have thought him just a birb but the webs indicate to me he's a duckling.

Awww kitty and duck! Such a lovely pair! One of my cats, Prince, absolutely adores my parrot. It's so funny. :) unfortunately, none of my cats have bonded with my ducks, probably because all my ducks are huge and they bite the cats tails

Lol don't you love duck pancakes?? They were not happy with me either because they had to go out in the cold snow while I refilled their feed in the shed. You would think they appreciate having FOOD but noooooooo
yes. Pancaking ducks kill me. They look so soft and happy. Even on snow. Yikes. I'd never 'cake' on snow.

The timings were perfect for us. Maggie grew so quickly that when 2 month old Gigi came to our house, Maggie at 2 weeks old was almost the same size. Neither of them is very big, and Maggie is definitely the dominant sibling now, though it did not start out that way. :)

You guys are funny! I did do a glitter experiment in my lab. Glitter Then I tubed it and got this: -Kathy
