The Duck Thread

Quote: That was from a worming thread, and what I learned was that one could use it diagnostically if needed. For example, If found some funny looking duck poop, but didn't kow which one was doing them, I could tube a different color or combo of colors to each duck and then figure out which one was doing them.

That actually helps in any household that has multiple animals of any kind!

Duck people ROCK. Thanks again for all your help. Problem child ( now Pretzel) is looking and acting like a normal duckling. Walking, standing, eating, drinking, and pooing.

THANK YOU ALL

That would have been interesting, lol.

Oh gosh can you put up 11 more water fowl and their keeper? love that pond and we all need a vacation from this frigid weather. Bathing suit optional.

Sorry y'all are having such a hard winter. If only you could send some this way to get rid of it.

Hi all, new to the thread.

This is Maggie

I hatched her from one of our other ducks abandoned eggs after noticing her beak pipped through the egg was moving. She has grown up in our house, with our kitten Gigi (who arrived 2 weeks after Maggie).

It has been interesting watch them learn and particularly imitate each other. They have played with the same toys ~ their favourite is mouse on a string. When Gigi catches a real mouse, Maggie waddles in and throws the carcass around just like her furry sibling. And Gigi wishes she could fly, like Maggie. In fact she tries really hard. When Maggie takes off, Gigi leaps into the air, all paws extended like superman, but unfortunately then comes down to earth. However, she also loves to run below whilst Maggie flies, so there is some compensation.

OMG, this is sooo precious!

Ren, those are some nice looking ducks. Simply beautiful. I love there pond, is it natural or did you do it? I need something bigger than a baby pool for mine.
Thank you. We did it. I got tired of emptying the pools. We have on/off valves on our pools that made it easier but still just too much trouble. I use them in the pens when someone is healing and for babies.

Aylcea, I'm fairly new also. Welcome. Love your 2 babes. Simply awsome couple. Don't you just love watching them. Wish my hubs would allow mine in the house. I have to incubate in the back bathroom and they then go to the garage at 2 weeks. He says they are too stinky. Such a bummer.

Sounds like our husbands might be related, lol.

Yes. Finnaly, with ALOT of help from the duck thread. He is doing great.

His journey and my nightmare ended happily. Thanks to these people
Congrats! Sooo cute

Hey guys looking to add some ducks, can ducks and chickens live together? They'll have different coops but same run. Could that work? Any tips for raising them together, can they eat the same food?
