Hi guys!
This is my first post in BYC. I have two Indian Runner ducks and have already ended up at BYC a few times after googling some questions. I hope I can be of use to new duck owners some day too
Look forward to chatting and forum-ing with you all!

Beautiful duck!Question....
I have 14 8 week old runners. They have been sharing there space with my old man Henry. Together but separate. Henry is still being a *** to the new guys/girls. When they are in the run he is in the coop. When they are in the coop. He is in the run. My question is how much longer do you think they need to stay like this? I want him so bad to be part of the new flock. I call him uncle Henry but he is such a ***** still.
I have a question on this. I have 7 ducks, 3 Pekins, all 7 are hens. I have one that is pulling out feathers and putting them in the nesting box. I am wondering if she is going broody. Since I have no drake, IF she goes broody do I leave eggs out there under her, even though they will never hatch? If they are pekins the chance of them ever actually hatching their eggs is low. I won't say it's impossible because I have a pekin that goes broody but in general the broodiness has been bred out of them in order to increase production, so unfortunately without investing in an incubator or getting another duck of a breed that is broody you may not ever get ducklings out of them.
My Cayuga had an angel wing, I could tell pretty early that there was a problem. I would say I could tell something was wrong earlier than 8 weeks, I'd say 3 weeks. I just kep hoping it would get better, it didn't. We wrapped it and left her confined for 6 days, all fixed. She still carries the wing a little funny but it is up against her body and she can flap her wings with a lot of power, she can almost, just almost fly! lolI think I might have two with angel wing. Can it happen at 8 weeks? I'm just now researching it. Will post pictures tomorrow.

we have to have patience w/our ducks. most situations are on their time, not ours. just enjoy them and let them come together on their terms and time. we are their caretakers and our reward is being able to watch them co-exist. we have to keep them safe from eachother also.Question....
