@Miss Lydia
Hello can you advice me of my duckling bruise? I sent you the picture but you has not replied

It's on page 642
@Dennyis are you sure it's bruising and not just the natural color? if it's bruising then some how your duckling has been injured if it is an injury can you get Epsom Salt you can try soaking the lil ones feet in some warm water and ES but the duckling cannot drink this solution it is also a laxative. Or maybe it's a nutritional issue Did you ever say what your feeding your ducks? they need very specific grains, feed formulated for poultry that are for their health and if they don't get it it will show up maybe anemia ? And that is why the bruising I just don't know for sure since I am not a vet. And I am not there to see how your ducks are kept and what they are eating so more info would be nice.
My babies are getting so big. Our 2 chickens are quite b words to them still but our Pekin is taking them under her wing,(pun intended) The 2 babies (not really babies) are inseparable. If and when they are more than 2' apart, they cry for each other. Gotta say, digging the social activities of poultry.
Aren't they fun.

What is the breed of duck? Also do you have a picture of "before"? It kinda looks like his/her feet are just darkening in color! They change all kinds of colors as they grow! Bills, feathers, feet!

It's flipping cold (again) and my chickens are cold yet my babies are in the pond swimming. LMAO Yesterday I spent all day draining and cleaning the pond for them making sure the goldfish and minnows were taken care of as to not kill or shock them. No sooner did I get the pond refilled gingerly put the 4 fish back in than I see Coraline(tan and white buff) gulping down the goldfish! That dude was 6" long! Next I see blackie swallowing a minnow then another! Man it is a good thing I like the ducks better than the fish lol!!

They thought you put those fish in there especially for them.

So when selling babies, how do you decide who to sell and who to keep!?!??! I'm so torn!!! If i could figure out girls and boys that would make it easier. I'm gunna keep 3 of my chub-sters but which two to sell!!!!!

If you want girls Try and pick the ones that are slightly smaller, the males (especially Pekin crosses) are going to be a bit larger. With mine they were nearly a half pound heavier.

Uggg! That's a hard decision :( I guess choose the three nicest :) That's all I can say. I wish you luck :)

Thankfully I didn't have to make the decision, today, the person just wanted the mallards. However I'm now sitting here with the rest (sucking up mom was pretty mad when I took them) I am noticing a couple are starting the "fart" quack so fingers crossed they are girls!!! That helps with the decision!!
