Will he eventually have ducks for his flock? because ducks do better with other ducks.
how do you candle duck eggs?
A bright light and a completely dark room.
can i write on the eggs with a Sharpie so i know which eggs are new and how old the rest are or will that hurt the baby ducks
I would use pencil but that your choice.
pencil doesn't stay on that well... will sharpie hurt the ducklings?
I wouldn't use sharpie on the eggs...they're porous and the chemicals could leach through and damage the embryo. If you can, find a bright wax crayon that will stand out against the color of the egg.
Try not to pick s/he up as much as you would like to and always wash your hands before and after this is more for the duckling then you and just be around for the duckling and try to feed it by hand as ducks are just two legged pigs and food is their bottom line and it is always easy to make friends with a duck if you feed them and just like dogs they will follow you around the yard .......
Yes he will join our flock when he is bigger
