HELP MY DUCKLING SEEMS SICK

My 13 day old duck baby seems to be sick, at least that's what I assume.

When it was time for an evening snack i noticed Lamont acting weird. The lil guy did not partake in snacktime. I observed him for a few minutes and He is quite lethargic, his eyes are glassy. His breaths seem to be a Tad rapid. He is also constantly peeping but very quiet. Hes been this way for about an hour. I'm very worried.
We have seperated him from the other 5, lying him on the bed sittin on paper towles. so we can keep a close watch.
I don't believe anything out of the ordinary has happened. He was hanging out with his 4 older peking friends inside before hand and was acting fine. Eating and drinking fine.
We put the pekings in there outdoor coop And returned to give the babies their snack.....

here's a picture of him... any advice would be amazing!

Sorry no one has replied how is your duckling this morning?

Hi my name is angel I am new to BYC. I have been looking over this site the past few days bc I have just started incubating ducklings (pekin) and chicks (buff orphington). Unfortunately I put the ducklings and chicks in at the same time but I am planning on moving the chicks to a different incubator during lockdown. Right now I have them all in the little giant 9300. I was wondering if There's any advice anyone can give me as being a new hatcher. Also should I mist the duck eggs while they are in with the chick eggs or no? If so when should I start misting?. Another question I have is should the temp be lowered after the chicks hatch or no? Please not negative comments. I'm sure I have more questions but I'll leave it to that for now.

@Reese7383 can you give us an update? A vet would be best - With ducklings sometimes a vitamin deficiency is the problem, or they eat something toxic or something they cannot digest, sometimes they pick up an infection (bacterial or viral or fungal). If all the rest seem fine it is probably not a problem with temperature or other environmental issue, but some ducklings are more sensitive than others.

And sometimes there are congenital problems that show up after a number of days or weeks.

Please let us know how things are.

I would first add some poultry vitamins with electrolytes and probiotics to the water. I found a product with all three, but sometimes you need to buy each one separate, or substitute with Poly vi sol, apple cider vinegar and a little plain yogurt.

@ducklove290 see if @madamiec or @Lacrystol can answer your question - also for chicken eggs, there is a BYC hatching forum. You might also try this https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/949763/the-6th-annual-byc-easter-hatch-a-long/9280

Thank you. I had not considered how to drain the pond as of yet, but I do like the idea of a pump. And I really like the idea of recycling the water in the garden.

I just bail mine out with a bucket till its empty enough to flip. Get a heck if a workout , the only draw back is it floods the other side of the fence, which the ducks LOVE sticking their head thru and drilling in the mud :)

Took my ducklings to our camp/farm this weekend. It was just a visit for them, but will be their eventual home. Did a little temporary housing arrangement for them. My 2 big Roos had to investigate. They stuck around a lot, and neither group seemed the least bit worried about the others. Made me happy!

I can't believe how fast they grew up! Even with my babies growing right alongside them, I still can't believe it.
