I haven't had that problem before but I would imagine that some ducks are just better than others in the same breed. I have one large runner and a small runner. My small runner lays small eggs and takes a break often. My large runner lays pretty good sized eggs and hardly takes a break. I would imagine that she would not be a duck I would want to breed since I want good layers and wouldn't want to pass that particular trait on.Has anyone ever had a duck that just doesn't lay? And yes, definitely a female. She very rarely lays though. A year old, pekin. When she does lay, she has big beautiful perfect eggs. Eats and drinks and swims. No injuries. Just doesn't lay, often....
