The Duck Thread

Hot weather can slow down egg laying with my Runners and Buffs, seems to me.  MIne molted at 2 or 3 months, then I think it may have been more than a year before the next molt.  Oh, and each duck molts on her own schedule.  My broodies molt about a month after they are done feeling broody, then start laying a month or two later.
I'm not quite sure who has slowed down. I think it might be my runners. Or at least my large runner for sure. They all seem to be losing a few feathers but it doesn't seem like they are molting.

Hey everyone,

It's bee a while since I was last on here. Have a few questions hopefully somebody has the answers. Is it normal for ducks to only stand on one leg it seems they do it more when they are sleeping just never seen it before and want to make sure nothing is wrong. Also, my larger pekin duck the one I think is a male has one of his wings that don't completely test against his body and droops down and brushes the ground and his other one does not do that and neither of my females are like that so I'm wondering what might be wrong there and what I can do to help!

The one leg thing, completely normal! Mine even sleep like that! The wing thing, have your ducks recently molted? Could be blood feathers. They're heavy and takes a bit to build strength to hold them up. Do you have a pic?

Mine are only about 3 months old are so and just got there first set of feathers maybe a month ago I can try to go out there and get a picture of my one but I don't currently have one I believe it's just strange because it is the one wing and the other duck of mine does not do that

I'd post a pic just in case. However, first thoughts are: building strength, not all ducks are the same strength. Basics: getting good/ proper food, nutrients and vitamins? No injuries? First feathers are heavy for babies! I'm interested in a pic so as to rule out angel wing. (And because we all love pictures!!!)

I included the pictures it might be hard to see he was being difficult but hopefully you can tell

I'm not entirely sure if they still have feathers coming in as I thought they were both done until they molted again. However I could be wrong my first time owning ducks so I'm learning as I go!

Not angel wing. If I'm seeing correctly (old eyes) feathers still coming in,yes?
