Well now I don't know about giving pain killers, but my daughters cat was sick one time where you couldn't even touch her. The vet gave her some stuff called Ketoprophen. Not sure that's how you spell it but when that ran out my daughter gave the cat a quarter of an Ibuprophen human pill.

I'm sure you've quarantined you duck so it can rest so I won't suggest that, but you might do a search on a Duck site and see what it says.

Correct, Medicated chick feed is not good for duck because it can damage their organs. The type of antibiotic in the chick feed is toxic to their kidneys.

A note on pain killers for ducks. Straight from the vets mouth, ducks can have Advil.
For ducks 6-8 lbs 25-40mg twice daily adult tablets cut up or children's liquid Advil 1.5ml twice daily, orally.

It is September first. I have one male & 9 female kakhi campbell ducks. They are 7 months old. I was getting up to seven eggs daile, they then drop to 5, later on to 3. Now for thelast 3 days I have been getting only 1. It was suggested "molting" could be the cause. I am turning the light on the hutcth, but they don't sleep there. I place a standing spotlight outside the hutcth. Still 1 egg only. I feed them cracked corn from tractor supply plus one day old brea I get at a discount store.What am I doing wrong?

Could be food. A layer feed for ducks would be much better than corn and bread which aren't much but calories with no real nutrition. Also oyster shell for calcium is helpful. It could be other things but I'd change their diet first.

I'm not exactly sure if my duck (s) is sick. I finally got brewers yeast and I'm giving it to my 5week old Swedish ducks. At first I put a tbls in their water butbit didn't dissolve easily so now I put one in their food. I put one tbls for each time I feed them. They get more than a cup each time so I don't measure it down because I don't want to overdose. I've read 10 threads on it but I still wasn't confident on it. Could that be making them sick? Symptoms: runny poop, stinks horribly when they're at 16% protein scratch, and what sounds like wheezing sometimes

Maybe they are inhaling some of it. and it may be causing wheezing. I like to just sprinkle over their feed, try cutting it back by half to see if clears everything up. But I'll say scratch isn't a well balanced diet for any poultry. Were your ducklings showing symptoms of niacin dif?

If all you're feeding is cracked corn and bread, that for sure is the reason. Domesticated ducks need more. I find that folks will complain of no eggs but then confess to over doing treats or house food. While they may be fine if you're not concerned with getting eggs, it can lead to unhealthy and weak stock.

Just the same as humans animals need a nutritious and balanced diet.

I used to buy bags of "bird" bread from the bakery, but I noticed misshaped eggs and thin shells so I no longer do so. I do give them treats but not in large quantities.

Yeah...sadly, cracked corn is NOT the same as feed. And feeding them bread is actually really bad for them. :/
