With young ducklings I recommend spending a lot of time interacting with them. This will make them very friendly and not afraid. I sit right down on the ground with them and let them climb all over me like I'm a jungle gym. After a few weeks of playing with them like this, they follow me all over the place and look forward to seeing me. Treats like romaine lettuce help too

I cannot get over how they have grown, and they look like great lil helpers too.

Some do, some don't. They require long daylight hours as in the Spring & Summertime. So in the colder months, artificial lighting is needed. A low wattage LED bulb works great.

My Khaki Campbell drake and Blue Swedish duck have been mating and she built a nest, laid 5 eggs, sat for a little more than a day and abandoned the nest. So, I now have 5 eggs incubating. This is my first attempt to incubate so it is probably a good thing there are only 5 eggs just in case they all hatch. I don't know if they will hatch or not and since they have only been in the incubator for a couple of days there is nothing to see...yet. I do feel pretty sure they are fertile since the pair were mating several times a day leading up to the egg laying. So, I am thinking, if they do hatch, I may have some little cuties around mid January.

Does anyone have any idea what father Khaki mother Swedish offspring might be like?

@miss lydia should I just give up on my ducks with sitting? She shares a nest with my other female, and now they have 19 in the nest. It's been over a week now. I've been getting advised to let nature take it's course and leave it, or to get them and incubate it myself.

irdk what to do.
