The Duck Thread

Can anyone tell me what kind of duck this is? His name is jake, he's really shiny black and in the sun his head is a very pretty green and body had pretty blue.

Can anyone tell me what Breed of duck these are? I know they are crested and they stand more upright than my pekins do.

I have another question. My ducks have a shed, a fenced in area, a pool and I've recently started leaving their gate open so then can walk around my yard. Well my question is, how do I keep their smell to a minimum?? Their shed and fenced in area and pool smell horrible!! I have to lock them in their shed at night time but during the day they are free

I want to add some new ducks to my flock and right now I have three. I am stuck between Runners, Cayugas, or KCs.
Runners they are useful in many ways and are light and need less feed than other ducks and don't need pools to swim in. I have 2 cayugas and 1 mc and I wish all three were runners now that I look back on it.

@Miss Lydia isn't that mama duck adorable?! She is so sweet! And a great mom too.

We'll be able to tell the ducklings sex somewhere around 4-6 weeks, right? Total size of duck and legs start to differ around that time, right? Males bigger.

She makes the most adorable chirping sounds to them. Lol. Those ducklings are so cute I can't stand it! Lol. I still love my duckies too, though.

I have a wild mallard hen sitting on 12 of her eggs in the coop and I'm wondering how do you guys give water when a hen duck is raising a brood? I'd like for them to have a bowl of water but don't want the ducklings to drown of course. Pictures would be nice!
