I have 13 grown (5mos-1year) ducks
4 geese
4, 3 mos
1, 3 weeks
Peeps eggs I'll watch as if they were set 6/29
Lolas eggs are being watched as if set for 7/5
Geese, no eggs. Motorboat just steals babies!

Oh! You know what we need?!? Hatch-cam! So Peep was the first...how long ago? Do you keep making additions to existing coops or building new ones? LOL...Motorboat the baby thief!

Peep was the first, just over a year ago. I'm sorting who will be core flock (friends) and who will be stock (sale/meat) peep and Big Momma, Lola, triumph,

And my Cayugas will be my core. I believe. I don't have to add on to my coop. The shed is 20x25 and they free range on 2 acres. The brood shed/grow out is about 10x15 with outdoor pen. The geese have their own house. (There's only 4 and we're monitored by the wardens for them) the rest I sell.

So you won't be adding geese then, right? It all sounds just perfect! I'm thinking I better ship myself, along with my pets, to your place. LOL...you've got more room.

The geese are Canadian. I just got my permits for them. Motorboat has angel wing, and two others were pinioned. They were dumped too. We have very strict laws regarding the geese. I'm monitored by the wardens to keep them. They believe they know who did it, proof is different. They've gained 2+ pounds each and no more parasites!!!! They were horrible before. I have to reapply yearly for permits. I have Unity College less than 2 miles away, and they educate some of the best wardens and wildlife folks in the U.S.! The wardens around here are tops.

I would love to have more geese. My permits don't allow it though. I also don't want to worry about space. I want everyone to have plenty of room. No overcrowding. I think everyone is healthier and happier when they have room to spread their wing, so to speak!
