I'm just keeping it as sterile as possible for now. The swelling has gone down tremendously. I want some calls some day.

Nope, vent is just north of that, directly under the tail tip... that's the navel, where the yolk is absorbed... it's still open a bit and slightly swollen... just hasn't quite absorbed all the fluid and dried up yet... it's comparable to a baby's umbilical cord area...

And he did it all without me, lol. This hatch has been way better than the others I've done. I put these on paper towel rings at lock down and had them elevated at about 20-30 degrees. I don't know if that's the secret but I'm sure using them from here on out
