Get ahold of Miss Lydia. She paints her burd coops and is a super large wealth of knowledge.Hello. newbie here. (can I be considered a newbie even though I don't have my ducks yet??) I am looking for advice as we are building our duck house. I live in a wooded area, so plenty of shade and few spots of sun. Our property goes up to a river (north of us) and we are basically at the top of a hill that goes down to the river with some level places. Good conditions for some damp ground. Have you guys painted or stained your duck houses? I'm thinking I will want to in order the keep the wood we are using for the house from rotting too quickly. Any recommendations or ideas? It will be up off the ground, but I'm still worried because it can get so humid and damp.
@fearnowsh I painted the outside of my houses with Olympic solid color stain and most of the insides are not painted except in one of my ducks houses I did paint some of their stalls since I had some of those small sample jars from Lowe's If you paint the inside you should do it early in the day with windows open so it can dry out and the smell is gone buy the time they all go to bed or do it before you get them then it will have had a chance to cure.Hello. newbie here. Quote: I agree with all of you. That duck has had a back injury and is trying to compensate by using other part of her body for balance. Maybe complete rest will help her to mend. not to let the drake`s stress her out.

Mr Darwin is too cute with his little snow boots on. Will he actually ware them around or does he just stand there when he has them on. Don't think they are really necessary for ducks but they sure are cute.
