Curious question: does anyone else's flock divide into sub groups by themselves? My younger ducks all seem to have formed their own group and hang out together. The two mallard girls and the four mutts have no problem mingling with the other seven older ducks (although they're not that much older, only about 6-7 months older), but they always seem to separate again and pal around. They are also my rebels. When I herd the ducks in their pen, the older ones have no problem filing in, but the rebels want to stay outside and put up a fight. They are all mallard or half mallard, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Just an interesting observation![]()
Yup, microflocks! You know, like high school. Popular ducks, quiet ducks, rebel ducks, jock ducks....
