thats good if they are happy and all, but it seems like she is making having babies her whole life focus and when the day comes that all the kids are grown and she is older, she will feel lost..you have to have your own separate identity from just being a mom.
in my opinion anyways. i have 6 but i have to have my own time to do things that i want to do. i dont want to just be known for having half a dozen kids.

Sure, lucrative TV deals, plus the realestate pyramid scheme... who wouldn't be loaded?

I for one think they should not get a dime since they make their living off of television but preach to their kids TV is bad and don't let them watch it? Another case of do as I say not do as I do...

Eventually mom's uterus will either prolapse or hemorrhage resulting in a hysterectomy.......

Sorry, but many people have had a lot of kids and don't have TV shows providing them the income needed; they manage all on their own (without assistance). Kudos to them!

As far as I can tell, she'll never have a life of her own.

exactly..that would be depressing to never have time with just you and your husband, or pets, or anything that wasn't kid related. forever.

I rather suspect that she'll happily move from mom into grandma and keep raising kids that way.

It is their business, IMO. They provide for their children, seem to have a happy home and a good relationship. They shop second hand, don't buy things until they can pay for them outright, home-school, etc. I believe their family size has everything to do with their religious beliefs, which is fine by me so long as they can afford the cost of raising them without assistance from the tax coffers. If the public is curious as to how a very large family can be managed, and the Duggars are willing to open their home, then so be it.

I believe their family built and owns some self-storage facilities and other modest investments. And they simply don't spend a lot of money. This is an old-fashioned/traditional family structure that works for these people and I really have to admire them--even though I would never choose it for myself! My grandparents grew up with this exact structure and super-sized families because they were farmers, and big families were normal. My grandparents all recall their childhoods with lots of siblings as being wonderful.

I tend to believe that once her kids are grown, she'll be advanced in age and there will be so many grandkids running around that she will never be lonely. Plus, she and her husband seem genuinely fond of one another (unlike Jon & Kate...)

I'm thinking I personally don't know enough about them to pass judgement.

I wish them happiness, whether it agrees with my philosophies or not.

Another wet blanket statement from me.

Seriously, all we know is what the media reports, which is biased at best.

No credit cards...they don't buy it if they do not have cash. I think they make like $75,000 per EPISODE too...and they have their own commerical real estate properties that they own & rent out for thousands a month. They shop very frugally and have no debt.

No daycare. Free labor at their rental properties. They seem happy on all the news feeds but I still can't watch the show out of my comfort zone (a little creepy).
