I wouldn't mind having one just like her.

pip: so cute, such a little guy to be crowing, love it!

saltandpepper- she is a pretty chicken, I love her variety of colors! Can't wait to see what color her eggs will be.

Kassaundra - adorable, they are getting so big! Their feathering is beautiful!

Here are my 3 day old OE chicks..

Are olive eggers considered EEs?
cute chicks. I say yes in the scheme of things they are easter eggers but I like to seperate them for the fact that you are breeding for a specific purpose. Easter Eggers for blue/ blue green/green eggs . olive eggers for olive.
That is just me though lol

all look great. you should think of keeping the lighter rooster to see what he looks like

I do not have the space or set up to keep multiple roos.

I hope no one minds me jumping in for some advice on my chicks. Most of these are Olive Eggers, an Americana roo over BCMarans hens. Two of the small ones are EEs. I know that some of these are roos but one or two are sort of borderline (Translation: I hope they are hens

).

This charcoal black laced chick is a shy scaredy cat. I am pretty sure she is a she. Below is her on the right and the other black chick whose comb is so much redder.

These two I am not sure. Sorry I cut the top of the charcoal black laced one's head off. I may have to take another shot. The one on the left is pinkish but so small. This black one does have a tail but it is half the normal size.

Now this one has a small only slightly pinkish come But its feather iridescence blue. Has no tail though to give clues. Not got really pointed feathers but not totally round ones either. It is friendly and non-aggressive. This is the one that I so hope is a hen of course.

These two are from the same hatch and I am sure are both roos. The red one because of the mahogany on the wings

On a different question: Has anybody seen this pattern on a rooster before? In particular I am talking about the spots that look like 2 eyes on his chest? They make me think of those caterpillars that have great big false eyes to scare predators.

That is really cool - but I have never noticed any spots on my red boys before they get in their final feathers. I do wish they would keep those juvie striped feathers though - I think they are the neatest pattern..
