Do all EEs "squonk"? Mine don't do the normal "bawk bawk" of a chicken. They do this thing that sounds like a cross between a squeak and a honk, sometimes they even sound exactly like my dogs squeaky toys. Is this typical?

I was wondering this too, my cockeral makes the funniest honkie noises and the weirdest crow I ever heard. Lol
I culled my little pullet today. I hate doing that. But, she was just laying there waiting for someone to fed and water her with sad little peeps. The same sad peep they give at night while with mamma. After a better look at her. She had a small wound on the side of her spine about halfway down. She was so fluffy and it was a very small scabbed over hole. I just over looked it. So, that is the reason she couldn't stand. Might have been a cat or other small critter that got scared off. The hawk would have left a larger hole from the talon or beak.
Time to set up the trap again. Last month I caught 10 cats and the animal control came and got them. All the adults where wild. The 3 kittens caught, the 2 boys where called hiss and spit. I got them tame enough to be adopted. The girl my dog brought home. I kept her she is so friendly that it's a pest. Just wants to be on you. The adults I caught where all boys. So I know I have 1 or 2 females out there somewhere.
The lady at the end of our private road moved out last year and left 11 unfixed cats. They mostly stayed away from my house. My cranky old female hates other cats and keeps them run off. But they get hungry and come around. I can't blame them. It isn't their fault, they are just trying to survive. But, they have to go. Livia kept them away at night. She liked to sleep in the closet built into the coop. I do miss my dog.
