My young birds turn 12 weeks tomorrow. They got to free range with everyone today. One of the little pullets is a begger and stalker. Always looking for food.

Our birds are exactly the same age! Mine also turn 12 weeks today. Haha to funny

I haven't been here for months, but I wanted to share these (blurry) pictures of my EEs because I FINALLY got a mostly-white female EE. I kept eying her going "Cockerel for sure." When all the cockerels started getting their shiny sickles and pointy hackles I thought "Eh, must be a late bloomer." Nope. In both pictures she's between the speckledy cockerel and a black EE pullet.




Edited to add: Her parentage is not 100% certain, but the male in question is this guy (picture is close to a year old; he's now much more filled out)


The mom was most likely my Silver Ameraucana but there's a snowball's chance in heck it was my blue EE. I'd be surprised if it were the latter because she seems pretty solidly blue and didn't have any patterning to her down- just a little red fuzz around the face. As a chick my mostly-white pullet had your standard wild-type markings which is what makes me think the Silver Am was the mom rather than the Blue EE.

Silver x white EE boy is not certain, I would expect more of the Silver lineage to come through. Peach on her chest. Your Blue EE may be split for E/??, so its possible she is the mother. I would guess your gold duckwing boy is fathered by your Silver AM - that is very likely.

Some new ones of Eleanor taken today. She's definitely got some physical changes happening now at 22 weeks. Her beard has gotten a lot more saggy and looks AWESOME with her puffy cheeks. Her little comb is getting a bit bigger and some pink color. No squatting yet though. I'm thinking she may be a late layer.
