The EE braggers thread!!!

X2. I keep easter eggers for there personality not their egg color. And i hatch eggs from them, many people enjoy the little chicks and colored eggs they get from then once they grow up.
I remember you posting picture of her and she is really pretty. Is she more the size of an LF or bantam?
She is Bantam size, the same size as my Japanese Bantam rooster(her father). If it is indeed her egg it is the same size as what my Japanese Bantams lay. Though it could be the younger Jap bantam that laid the egg but the color is a more of a light brown not the creamy white my japs lay so im not positive yet. Ill let you know when I find the chicken in the nest box.

she IS my favorite chicken but like you said "many people enjoy the colored eggs they get from them" I was hoping to be one of those people. I want a colorful basket but can only have a small amount of chickens total so I have to plan out my future chickens to get the best variety of colors. Right now I have 2 brown that are very close in shade and cream and my welly should lay soon so my next batch I'll probably get another EE or an Ameraucana since MPC sells them now and there's also a great Ameraucana breeder in my area which if I can time it right I could possibly get a chick from.

well looks like I'm one of the unlucky Easter Egger moms whos girl lays boring cream colored eggs. Eleanor was in and out of the coop this afternoon squawking and stuff, including sitting in the nest box. I went out for a while and came home to an egg in the yard and it was cream. My 2 current layers had already laid today and lay brown eggs, the only other chicken is a Welsummer who hasn't shown much sign of being close to laying, though all 4 are the same age so I have to assume it was the EE. Super bummed. :(
Awwww...her precious little body produced a beautifully shaped gift with such an elegant colour. I am sure it will taste wonderful..

I also have an EE pullet that I bought from a man who was trying to thin his flock. She is about 24 weeks old and Ihave had her for almost 2 weeks. I have my fingers crossed for a blue or green colored egg. Si is a very shy and timid little chicken and was pecked on by my older BSL, but it looks like things have calmed down. Si still runs from me, but I hope that soon she will greet me at the patio like Smoke does....
