The EE braggers thread!!!

Hello Valjean, What a gorgeous egg! It's the kind I'm dreaming of from my 24-week old EE, but nothing so far.
Betty was closer to 24 weeks than 23, and I figured it would be a few weeks more from what I had been reading. I was surprised to find her first egg. Since she started laying, she has only missed one or two days, and after one of those I got another huge, double-yolk. Hang in there - it WILL happen!

COChix I tried to post Condolences about Honey twice now. I don't know what's going on by my phone & BYC are not getting along. Anyway, she was a special bird and I hated to hear of your loss!!
I kinda figured, thanks for your thoughts. Yes it was heart breaking, but I guess these things happen being a chicken keeper and all.
I have so many EE cockerels growing out!! Arg!! Idk what I'm going to do with them all! They r very cute and funny, but I'm trying not to get attached cause I'll prolly have to eat em! I HATE processing birds though. It is just such a mess! Lol
Processed two roo's last week.
I'm the same way. I said at the beginning of the season do not name any of these chicks because if they are roos we are eating them. well I just gave away the last 4 EE I had growing out. I know that 2 are most likely roos one for sure. Actually I traded them for highlights. LOL the lady who does my daughters hair took them and will do her hair for free next time. I kept one because he is really pretty and so far well behaved. Now I have to deal with the bantam. I told my Husband he may get to serve hot chickens at the tailgate parties instead of hot wings. We've never processed a chicken. quail are so easy it just looks like the chickens would be more difficult. We also have baby dwarf rabbits. I sure hope I can get rid of all of them. If I cant get rid of all these miniature animals I guess we will have a winter with lots of dumplings.
well we processed two roo's last week. It was my first ever and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The hardest part was the first head chop, luckily that was not my duty. If you have done a quail it is basically the same process, just chickens are bigger and have more feathers.
These are my two EE ladies! The dark one is the oddest bird there is. She almost reminds me of a dog and the other lighter one is highly skittish.
funny we have a girl that sounds similar to yours, the dark one. Here is a shot, she is super friendly, follows you around chatting with you and like to cocks her head sideways. She is friendly cause she was hand feed on day two as she almost didn't make it.

cool what color eggs do you get from all of yours?

My EE is the meanest and skiddish I have. She makes it a point to harass the little chicks, more so than the head hen. She wont get within 3 feet of me.
Weird, guess it just depends on the bird, not all are friendly in our flock. We have two that are pretty skitterish, three that are super friendly.

Many different shade of green, 1 olive green, from the 7 I have already. The 6 coming today she said lay blue and green, but of course I haven't seen those yet. I had 1 who laid a pink hue sometimes, but mostly looked brown, so I sold her as an egg layer. Nobody wants to buy EE eggs that are brown. Lol

All four of my other EE skitterish then my pearl and Hawkeye and my Roo Charlie he nice around me so far I hope he will stay that way..

My most friendlys chicks I have are my Barred rocks they come up to me and fallow me around like a dog but this a EE Theard
