Hi folks! I haven't posted in a while but my EE crop from this spring's hatch is doing just dandy. I went out to take pictures of them yesterday and got a few while they were hanging out in one of our pallet-framed compost piles.

This girl's "grandma" was a Jersey Giant. She is so much bigger in body than my other EEs and has an easygoing Giant personality to go with it. She is the daughter of these two:


Now, next shot of the spring peeps:

That one pullet did not want to be photographed! She dashed out of the first picture and hid under the cockerel above.
While I was taking pictures of the EEs in the compost bin, I heard a loud cluck and a whoosh of wings. My fourth EE pullet from the spring hatch came tearing around the corner and flew up to my arm! Here she is up close and personal.
