The EE braggers thread!!!

I have a chick in the bator that is a real pecker--and I mean that in the literal sense!  It seems to be bent on pecking everything in site.  I had one pip and get a quite a large hole in it trying to get out.  The pecking chick has pecked through the hole and I think killed it!  Weird!!!!!!
Oh, no! I hope the pipped one makes it. Weird is right...I always thought EE's were supposed to be good natured birds. Sometimes shy but overall good birds. I wound up keeping mine separate from the others and recently began small periods of reintroduction/playtime. It seems to be going well so far, knock on wood. Good luck to you and please keep me posted.

SO I took them out of the bator. The pecker hatched at the very beginning of day 19 and I had to take him out. They seem to be doing better after feeding. The pecker immediately drank before even dipping its beak!

My daughter and I freed the chick in the egg. I was really worried she wouldn't make it, but with some warm water and little peeling she came free of the membrane. I put her back in the bator and she has gone from flopping to fluffed.

So remember this guy

I posted his pic about two weeks ago. Well he crowed today, he is 7 weeks old so I guess you guys were right he's a rooster. I just love him though so I'm keeping him anyway. Now I have another question. What breeds do you think he is? He is so tiny. Here are some pictures for size comparison.
