Thread has been a little dead lately so.... I have a question.

Are most EEs good fliers? I finally had to cover my run to keep the EEs in, but I never heard of them being good fliers.what are yours like?
My girls aren't very good fliers at all. I have a 4ft fence around my yard for when they free range and they've never even been able to make it over that. Maybe my girls are too big?

Thank you,
My first ones aren't good fliers but their offspring get out of my 6ft fence daily so I had to net in. I know ees are a mix so they vary greatly....just curious.

Buckbeak lays huge eggs, Maybe your girl is too

OUCH! Looks like what my bigger Black Australorp lays when she more than outdoes herself. The largest was 114g or 2g shy of 2 large eggs.
I tell her to cut it out because it can't be good for her internal parts. She and my EE lay eggs between 68g (XL) and 74g (Jumbo) most of the time.

I never thought to weigh them, I'll have to do that next time. Every other week or so she gives me a double yolker. She "sings" the loudest too and it's no wonder why lol
