The EE braggers thread!!!

Thanks everyone, I love photography, and taking pics of the girls. I have a lot more pics on my FB account of the girls and everything else. I have pics of the girls from 2 day all the way to yesterday. I do mostly nature and macro shots, but am dabbling in people and architecture.

MM yes all from Meyer and I'll look into photobucket.

Draye, sounds pretty.

The Turken Lady, did you see the pic of the NN and EE cross on the NN thread, she was a NN w/ a beard.

on a different thread, they said that ee dont lay in the winter. mine do. it has been in the teens at night and i am still getting eggs. this is probably the last year that i will use this rooster. he has been a good one.

I am a little confused. I want a chicken that will lay blue or green eggs, but not pink. I know ee's can lay blue, green, or pink, but what color eggs do true Ameraucaunas lay.

I hope this is the right thread to post on, sorry if it isn't

Merry Christmas!

Hatchery EE's lay various shades of blue, green and pink but over the years of breeding my strain of EE's I have bred out all but blue eggs in my flock. Have some of this years pullets that are beginning to lay NOW in spite of the frigid temps and short daylite hours. Never has happened before... maybe something to do with global warming? Will post some pics of the new eggs soon.

We've been down a little below freezing and I'm getting 4-6 BLUE eggs a day from my NA Quechua (EEs). I only have 12 and some are molting. Desperately need a true BLUE-egged rooster soon. Not ready yet, but soon.

I'm interested in the Science experiment with lettuce also.

My EEs just started laying around a month ago. Some are still not laying, but the ones who are are pretty steady even though it's cold and snowy. I'm leaving a light on in the coop 24/7 now - for the light and whatever heat it puts off.

Got my first "pink" egg Monday. All the rest (around a dozen so far) have been greenish with one that looks blue. I think the pink adds a nice touch to the basket. I'm all about variety!
