I have one Dark Blue EE hen named Julia. She is such a sweety. I wish I had room to add somemore EEs.

I have a question, and I hope this is the right place since it involves an EE roo. Well anyway, his toes curl. Instead of being straight out when flat on the ground, his will curl inward. Is this a problem? He is our nicest roo and someday would like to possibly incubate some of his eggs, but I worry that he may have some sort of deformity that would make his chicks unhealthy. He also kind of canters or gallumphs instead of a trot. Thank you for input!

My mom is going to order 25 EE next month and 25 BO for me

and i was wondering does it matter what type of rooster mates with a EE pullet? We were going to keep them in a coop without a rooster cause i thought it would cause them not to lay the tinted eggs or offspring would be a mean breed i thought maybe a BO could be the rooster for their little flock any suggestions?

If you are planning on hatching out your own eggs then yes, you'll need a rooster in your flock. But if you just want eggs, you don't need a rooster. Hens will lay eggs with or without a rooster.
