He is indeed pretty.

The color you're enjoying there is called Golden Duckwing, however a traditional one would have a solid yellow neck instead of a mix of yellow and black.

FLChickens - Love your white/splash laced red guy. That's a rarity to find an EE with lacing in the WINGS.

part of my back yard is wooden, and my chickens free range when im home, we had deer pretty close to our back porch, ive taken pics and videos of them from my back porch and the most they've done was stare at me and continued eating. which i myself thought was odd since humans hunt them around here

I have lived in the woodland of PA and WV. There are so many deer in that part of the country that more of them get killed by crossing the road than by hunters. You better believe at night they will come right up to you front door and eat any shrubbery that you are wanting to grow. I used to hear them grunting outside my bedroom window. All manner of wildlife are you neighbors when you live near or in the woodlands. Even flocks of wild turkeys are plentiful and I would see them walk down the driveway. My chickens would get lost to raccoons and possum if they were not locked in by dusk. But I only worried about my plants when thinking about deer. Pretty funny to see a tiny silkie going after deer.

yup the deer dont seem to worry about us humans, we've had wild turkey walk by too, bears on my back porch, my silkie roo loves chasing my husband on the lawn tractor, tho he's not aggressive towards us, he just does not like that lawn tractor in the back yard running when his ladies are out lol guess i can say my roo has balls lol

In the spring I bought 4 EE's (and one BO). One of the EE's is laying now (Precious - medium shade green), and I think a couple more are about ready to start. The Buff Orp beat them all at only 19 wks, though.

They came from a local feed store in early May and are 22 weeks old at this point.
