The EE braggers thread!!!

My two whites are Yeta, and Yeti. Yeti is pure white w/ a small pea comb, Yeta has one feather that has a slight barely discernable grey smudge on it she has some version of a pea comb, but it is larger.

Yeta is the one of my girls that has personality plus, her escapades are well known on the Okie thread.

Here is one of the Yeta stories

Well Yeta (my helper chicken) and I worked our tail feathers off today and still didn't get everything done that I planned!
I have a new Yeta story for the day though. Our chickens are divided into two pens / coops. One pen has a rooster and the other does not. Yeta lives in the pen w/o the rooster (oreo). The garden area we were working on today was in Oreo's run area, he was quite dismayed at the "girl" outside of his fence (even though I kept telling him he had his hands full w/ his 9 ladies). I told Oreo, that Yeta was way to much chicken for him and not used to having a bossy guy to deal w/. But he kept doing everything in his power to turn her head, chattering, dancing, jumping up and down (had never seen him do that before) anyway the most she would do (and it seemed on purpose) was to sashe' by head held high in her best, "you can look, but can't touch" prance. It was funny!!!!

Here's another

Well the score stands Yeta 1 more, Gary still 0 he may actually be hitting negative numbers now!

Gary changed out the door in Yeta's run a few days ago after seeing a hawk on the property. She had been using the shorter door as a landing pad in her escape plans. Well she has been in for a couple of days obviously plotting, looking for the weak spots, keeping an eye on the gaurd rotation, etc..... Today was the day, she figured a new way out, and literally flipped her tail feathers at Gary as she went back in on her own terms!!!!!! Really not even kidding. If she had hands this is what she would have done to Gary

Here she is

She's molting now and not happy about being grounded

She is younger in this one but you can barely see the smudge on her shoulder.

Let me introduce my EE cockerel. He is of a BLRWxEE pairing. I love his size, mild manners and well his lacing is pretty cool too.

So beautiful, did you make her specifically (select hen and roo for specific breeding)?

The question still stands for the splash owner

Perdy was also a splash when young, but became more and more beautiful as she aged (the 3 younger pullets are totally different EEs). I wish I could take credit for breeding her, but I am not allowed roos where I live - I ordered her from My Pet Chicken a little over 2 years ago (as an EE).

This is what she looked like at about 7-8 weeks (typical splash)

About 4 months old:

Last year, after her 1st molt (notice her tail feathers are darker)

This is her now, after a 2nd molt (her tail feathers are white)

Hello,
First, What a beautiful girl, Oreo! I love that coloring. But, I was actually curious about the other hen behind her. I have one that looks just like her but have no idea what she is. She is definitely not a phoenix, or a dorking but possibly a silver leghorn. I dont have any recent pictures of her but will snap one and post it in the What breed? section tomorrow. Thanks

yea they are much like kids, i love them, they love to bug me and end up in my food bucket when im scooping it out to feed everyone. wouldnt be the same without them lol

I think that is the equivelent of a little kid pulling on your shirt hem, LOL My SS are alot like that! Funny how they are so different in their personality's. Sugar my white EE would fly up on top of the coop and wouldn't come down til I went over and turned my back to her and bend over like I was her own personal landing strip. LOL I guess I am, I would hate to think that she would have to land on the ground and get her pretty little white feathers dirty. LOL

I like your names! One of my silkie momma is named snow white ,

Mine get excited anytime I get near or walk in the general direction of the coop / run area, but go nuts if I have the metal bowl in my hands!! (That is the magic dubia bowl, whenever I have that in my hands they get dubias, their absolute favorite treat of all time
