Heh heh! I know what you mean. I have a similar situation going here. I have an EE roo that is kept with some Marans hens and a Wellie hen. All of the hens kow tow to him except for the Welsummer. She still allows him to mount her, but when it comes to who gets the best spot on the perching stick at night, or who's boss of the yard when they're outside, she definitely puts him in his place.
I wont be eating mine most likely, most of my chickens are Banties and definitely too small to even consider bothering to dress. That's what my rabbits are for any who. The names however don't bother me. Heck. I named my Doe Mountain Dew knowing full well unless a critter gets her I'll be eating her someday. Maybe that sounds even more morbid, but that's part of the joy of growing my own food for me. Knowing my food. I wont be naming her fryer babies - but when it comes to eating her I know I'll cook her while rejoicing in a sing-song voice, "Good ollll Mountainnn Dewww~".
Had rabbits before too. I too ate them, even the mini rex if they wouldn't produce. But the ones I have right now are going to be my breeders.

Same with Mtn. Dew. She is a breeder right now but someday she'll be slowing down or stopping in her ability to breed and that is the day she finds herself in a stew pot
Still not sure what to call her buck though. Coca-cola seems too obvious to me... *taps chin* for now though I'd been jokingly referring to him as Huggy Bear.

yea not to mention oddly enough the roo seems to always be the last one to get any treats. Ever. XD It's certainly going to be amusing once they're all breeding age
I just hatched out some EEs! This is my roo, Victor:
And the mothers are Barred Rock, Black Australorp, Red Sex Link, Blue Sex Link, and Xena the Blue/Red EE (only one of hers hatched, due to mismanaged humidity):
Surprisingly, Xena's baby came out with a chipmunk type look. I also looked at the two Xena babies that died in their shells. They had the same markings. Here's the whole brood:
One oddity...the two BA x chicks have feathered legs! I can't wait to see how everyone will feather out.
