the blue pigment goes through the entire egg, unlike shades of brown which are surface coloring, sounds like whoever laid her had strong blue genetics and therefore probably had some good parantege

mbobb2012, sorry to get involved but to maybe clear this up a little. I believe aoxa questioned who you were speaking to since it was a little i guess out of order as to where the days conversation wasIm sure it wasnt meant to be rude. And then I believe flower was not speaking to you but to aoxa and asking her "must you know everything" since she questioned you. The laughing icon wasnt for you and seemed playful between flower and aoxa.

You are correct. I'm kind of lost and I didn't really get any offence in Flower's tone at all I just couldn't figure out where the colour conversation was. Must have been a few days ago?

I didn't mean anything other than the question, but perhaps should have worded it better. "Who were you addressing? Or what post were you addressing?"

mbobb2012 I am so sorry for the confusion. I guessed what your were saying was a response to some earlier post and I was playing with aoxa. Those of us who participate in a few of the same threads become some what familiar with each other. She was trying to help and I was just being oh I don't know but please excuse my failed attempt at playfullness ?

it's nice to have your here, we're a nice group of chicken folk who have a good rapport, and lots of humor, you'll get the hang of the site pretty quickly... have you already got some chickens? and if so... what kinds? you'll be drooling over all the EE's if you have to wait til Spring! it'll be so much fun!

I'd say you should pick up the dog and chase the Roo with it....the Roo is showing dominance because the dogs wont, so maybe if the Roo sees you and the dog coming after him he'll stop being such a bully?!?! Also a soda can/bottle with pennies in it tossed at the Roo may work as well...less risk of harming him with a BBgun? Good Luck!!!

Oh I'm so MAD

and disappointed...My EE Roo Prometheus has started attacking my dogs...My dogs are trained NOT to hurt the chickens and don't stand up to the rooster...Anybody have any ideas on what to do. Thinking I'll have to replace him, cause I have new EE babies growing up. I'm sure one is a roo(there's always a roo in a hatch LOL)
He's so pretty and was sweet, he's good to his ladies. Since I whooped up on him he leaves me alone...so sad cause he use to eat out of my hand and stand on my foot and was such a good boy. I can't have him hurting my dogs..I guess I trained them to well....

No i have no chickens yet, however, I have the ok from the spouse to get some, and ill be converting my garden shed into a coop with a fenced in yard...pretty easy to hide from the street view..lol but i have nice neighbors... No i want to discard previous postings, i have baby brain and i till get confused on multiple quotes in a single message UGH frustrating, i do apologize as i am quick to temper...im never mean but take offence easy ... but probably only because words on a screen dont have to nuances of human communication. Again please inform me if i truly miss assume.
Again sorry to those other two if they weren't being mean

I hope i dont come off as crazy, id hate to get a bad rep....ill double read next time and PM if i fell offended instead of making it public...as i have read older threads with some nasty arguments i wish to avoid.


Back to chickens i want to start with EE because i dont want expectations, i want the suprice..will her eggs be blue? Green? WhitE? Who knows and to me thats fun. I think it would be wonderful to go to the garden and literally come back with a rainbow basket...and after having EE's i think i could then be breed specific. Plus EE's are so varied i like the idea of again surprise...because that is what life is.

The good news is that EE are mutts so rarely provoke a fuss. Other threads, tensions can run high with some of them. Sometimes a fuss will follow us to other threads....

Most of the time it is best to just ignore comments, no reason to give them fuel.
