The EE braggers thread!!!

I had 6 EE babies hatch yesterday they are so cute all wilth beards and muffs. But they have orange legs:(
I will post pics today. They are so cute.
I have heard their legs can be yellow or orange at birth because of the yolks they consume inside the shell. They will soon change. Mine had yellow legs at first and are now slate colored. Can't wait to see photos!!!

Mine were yellow and went slate after a few weeks!

Glad to hear that because I love slate legs even the willow color is nice. It just gives the final EE touch. My first EEs I had had the dark legs from the start.

Alright, I'm sorry it has been so long.. .but here's Cali. We gave him away before Thanksgiving.

Here's Cleo (the EE who we got this spring)

Here's Teddy, the EE/Silkie/NN

Teddi looks like a muppet creation. I like the "hair"

Well, I have FINALLY finished reading all the way through this thread, and now I can post my EE birdies. Of course, like most people here, when I bought them I thought they were Americaunas (notice the i).. but have since learned the ones from the feed store really don't have a breed name so they are called EEs. I don't name the EEs.. but they do have distinct personalities and they lay nice blue-green eggs.

Enjoying the grass

Digging up the raised beds with some Silver Laced Wyandottes

I love their patterns

My EE Roo - clean faced - drat!

Saying hello to the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte cross beak and retarded rooster - he's in there to prevent him from adding to the gene pool. I will probably have to eat him. He still peeped like a chick when he was 4 months old.. only started crowing last month at almost 8 months old!

This is my darkest girl, she has a lovely green sheen on her neck feathers at the right angle

I have 10 EE hens (4 very old and 6 new). The old ones are about 7 years, the new ones are from last April. I love the eggs I am getting from them.

Oh, and I had a blue silkie hatch out one of the green eggs for me - and the chick looks almost orange! Too cute though!

These are the eggs she hatched

and here is mamma Blue and the chicks! The green egg one is the big one on the food tray - the chipmunk to the right came out of a banty egg - but I think my EE banty rooster Eagle is the father of that one.
