The EE braggers thread!!!

Is Hazel a boy? I was looking at her saddle feathers this morning and was having doubts.... I know I've asked this before, but I'm just making sure. I can have roosters, but I wasn't really wanting one. But, if one of my chicks is a rooster I am definitely keeping it. She is two months old? I got her and her 'twin' Pippy March 27.
She looks like a Harris hawk. So so pretty!

It is so hot here. It's like *gasp*!!!! 90 DEGREES!!!!!

I'm frying over here in this heat

Quick - set some fertile eggs! Bet they would hatch!

heres a closer look at my boys. Its hot out today so they are panting a bit in some photos.
I still like the Black Boy's colors. I think they both have a good rose comb so will carry the blue egg gene - but Black Boy has better fuzzy face. When BB gets older he may get red and gold too.. would love to see pictures all grown up.

WB will probably look like my EEroo:

With a fuzzy face. My boy is clean shaved..

He's handsome!

The 2 "sexed pullets " I bought from the feed store.... Both are roosters.

Good lookin guys but I don't think my neighbors will appreciate having them crow all day.I may try to keep one unless he gets to mean or too noisy.Which one do ya'll think will give me the best shot at carrying the blue egg gene in case I end up keeping one to breed to my hens? And how are the temperments on EE roosters in general? Do they tend to be very noisy?
They are both beautiful, but I LOVE the black and white one. How old are they in the picture? I have an 11 wk old I am hoping and praying is a girl, but she is rumpless so I don't have tail feathers to help sex, and the hackle feathers on EE's all seem to be pointed. She was a "sexed" pullet from the feed store, too .......

Hi all, I have an 11 week EE, bought at the feed store as a "sexed pullet Araucana". Well, it is rumpless, but of course is not an Araucana. I got it with 2 cochins, a silkie and a "mystery bantam", which turned out to be a silver sebright. So, out of 5 chicks, 4 being unsexed, the only one I KNOW is a boy is the sebright. He showed his true colors weeks ago and has been crowing for about a week or so.

The EE, however, has me very confused. From the beginning it has been the "mamma" to all the other chicks, I assume because it towers over them. It was very skittish for a while, but has calmed down a lot and is easily handled now. But, for the last 3 mornings, it has been "crowing". Well, sort of, not like a regular rooster crows, and it only does it a few times in the morning and I have not heard it do it outside or in the evening (they sleep in the living room), while the sebright does it all day. The comb is pink but not at all red like the sebright. There are no wattles, but EE's don't really get them, do they? There are no sickle feathers that I can see (my EE hen has the same "pointy" feathers, but it's an illusion). I don't see any hackle feathers, but because it doesnt have a tail, it's hard to tell, it's wings pretty much cover it's entire back. This is a video I took this morning of them both It doesn't act "rooish", like the other roo's I have (or have had). Ironically, I also have a serama pullet that "crowed" when she was about 3 or 4 months old Pleeeeeeeeze tell me there is still a chance it's a girl.

here's some pics
