The EE braggers thread!!!

You could produce a auto sexing line with this cross.I and a couple more people are working on this.I would welcome more people interested in this.Perhaps we could start a thread for this.Crele or something like rhodebar or cream legbar can be sexed by color at hatch. Not hard to do with a little advise from someone who understands how to mate them.

I have been crossing my Cream Legbar Rooster to my Silver Laced Cochin and Silver Laced WYandottes, The result is a Red Sexlink. The pullets hatch reddish/brown chipmunk and the roosters hatch either yellowish-silver/black.

SO far my pullets from the Legbar x Cochin are growing up to look like Cream Legbar pullets with feathered legs. The Legbar Cochin chicks are only 2 weeks old but I suspect the pullets will also look similar to the Legbar pullets and I will post a pic of a roo when he gets a little bigger.

Yes, they look like EEs, Araucanas don't have fuzzy faces. They look about a week - and they are really cute. I am glad you got what you wanted.

Yes, some EEs have the fuzzy cheeks and some do not, it all depends if they get the genes from their parents.  The ones with super puffy cheeks have two doses of beard/muff genes, the ones with skimpy faces have one - and if you breed two birds with only one gene their kids can loose the beard/muff gene completely.

thanks!!
