I am doing a redsexlink also from a Cream Legbar rooster x SLWyandotte and SLCochin. The cross produces a sexlink chick that will hopefully lay green eggs. Are you going to breed back to the rosecomb? I love the creel coloring, and autosexing in a blue/green egg layer would be great!
I intend to go with pea comb.I will breed toward the ameraucana standard.Posting here because wellll my fellow ameraucana breeders can be quite critical.I will start calling it a EE project and then possibly ameraucana. It is nice to share with people who are more accepting. Are you going to breed back to the rosecomb? Quote: Wellllll... I noticed that. I have a few Lavender AMs here, and I have a few Blacks to help with the feather issue, that "version" of AMs made their own thread because of the attitude of the purists. I actually I like the creel coloring alot so I might be up for changing over to those in a few years and help with getting them accepted. Just keep some Lavenders because I love that soft gray
I did a Isbar x EE cross (not intentionally, thanks broody hen) and kept all the blue ones, I have one boy and two girls (I hope) with really pretty coloring. The two girls both appear to have silver lacing and the one boy has some beautiful gold and red leakage. Only acceptance here...
Neither one looks like a boy to me, and some of my hens beards wobbles, on mine its the older birds. If you are thinking boy, check its neck and saddle for pointy male feathers. It almost looks Blue to me, but that might just be the lighting. So I made a trade today
It was rushed and had little time to examine the "girls" before going in the crate. I checked eye, beaks, under wings and bums for crawlies, all looked good.
Good deal too! I was supposed to get one black Maran and one black Americana (i knew it was an EE before seeing it lol)
BUT my concern is did I get a Male EE?
Lol it'd be the 2nd time someone sold me a laying EE Roo! (Crow and no eggs a few days after getting home the 1st time)
New girls have each laid 3 or 4 times I was told, so I expected bright combs but the new EE has me doubting sex dur to the comb part under brak (waddle? Only had them a few hours lol no egg proof yet)
One the new EE, the beard wobbles! Back n forthmy old EE hens beard is stationary

And don't Marans have feathered feet? I'm thinking two EES I have?
