The EE braggers thread!!!

My auto sexing EE . Chicks hatched today . Can be sexed at hatch . Top 2 chicks male bottom 3 female . I have eggs on the 24 hour auction thread if anyone is interested .
Do you mean sex link instead of auto sexing. Sex link only works for first generation hatch, while auto sexing works with all generations.. I making sex link EE with my barred rock and EE. First generation male barred femal non barred, cross back male offspring to another female EE to increase Ameracuna traits I want in my EE. Keep all barred hens for creating nice looking sex link EE

No. He means true auto sexing, not sexlinks. Jerry has been working on these birds for years and is just now getting reliable results. It's an amazing project, by a very dedicated breeder.

That is very cool
Thanks

They are a work in progress . I would like to have cushion combs and will add rose comb from a Legbar / Icelandic mix when One grows up . The icelandic has a rose comb , crest , white ear lobes and yellow legs . Final goal is crele and cream for color . Crest and beard with a cushion comb . Nobody has done cushion comb with the blue egg gene . I want a Leghorn type so you can add brown leghorn if needed for egg size and production .

I will definitely be hanging on to this chick. It would be neat if I could start a line of frizzled Easter Eggers, without breeding in anything else.

To each their own

Wow, Jerry, those yellow shanks sure stand out on that cockerel...that is what I'm shooting for with my Chanteclers.

Does anyone know when crossing EE x Leghorn if it has a straight comb will it not lay colored eggs? Just wondering because I hatched some chicks of this cross and some have straight combs and some have pea combs. Should I bother keeping any of the straight comb chicks if I want colored eggs?

Probably not going to get colored eggs from single combed chicks. It's not impossible, but it isn't likely.
