The EE braggers thread!!!

30 weeks!!!??? AAACKK!!! So my 21 week old EE may not even start until spring, huh? I don't add supplemental lighting.

Mine were hatched June 8th, 2015. The "slow" one started laying January 9, 2016. The first to lay was on November 18, 2015. Yours WILL lay through this coming winter.
 
I'm sorry but there is something just not right about chickens with no tails. Makes me think MOULT!

It has to do with our personal experiences of course. My Dad and stepmother wintered (from Oregon) in Oceanside, CA for a number of years. There was a little waterfall thing on the bathroom sink. Every time I went in there my mind said "I REALLY need to clean the aquarium", then my conscious mind kicked in and reminded me that I was 3,000 miles from the aquarium.

Perhaps. But the one chicken I have that was nabbed by a fox and lived to tell about it still had all her tail feathers. The fox had its mouth around her neck. I think the timing of seeing it and yelling was a matter of microseconds before she would have been dead.
