Believe me it wasn't easy to get that shot....Had to do some serious zoom and very quickly... I think she has beautiful muffs and beard and it is soft as a rabbits fur. I rub both EEs and the Ams beards every night as I sing their goodnight song... Yes my girls are that spoiled!! They get a few bars of "Goodnight Ladies" every night.

Thanks! I've always liked the blue highlights in her feathers. I added some Ideal EE pullet chicks to my hatch from mid-Nov. Here's their pic - yellowish and brownish ones. (The black ones are Barred Rocks.):

Me too! Fun seeing everyone's birds. They vary so much, some really pretty color combinations.

i would much rather have the colorful non standard ameraucana (ee) than the one color standards. they are not mutts. its also funny how so many of the hens and roo pics i have seen posted on here , resemble mine.

this my understanding, I don't think blue is recessive.
there are 2 egg colors blue, and white. you can have this with or wothout brown overlay, brown over white is brown {light, drark, tan, pink, cream} over blue you will get the green shades.
I would think if you crossed a blue egger with with an olive egger, you would get some of both.
you mite want to start your own post on this.

My girl is laying again, and I'm thinking she is kinda old. the 4 eggs I get in Sep where a nice tan, now they are cream. good size, every other day.
I'm thinkng about getting some from Ideal, I'll be getting some other breeds from them anyways.

I LOVE IT! Mine get told goodnight every night, and they always say it back; but I hadn't thought of singing to them!

Oh, I just saw this thread for the first time and I loved seeing everyone's EE's! They are definitely my favorite.

Easter Eggers are the sweetest chickens we have - this young one here looks like she is being manhandled, but she really does like to be up on your lap - she's older now, laying green eggs, and still comes to sit on my lap and stays till I've had enough.

My 1st & 2nd batch of EEs also resemble many of the EE hens on this thread:

I have 4 that look like this (Pippin, Cleopatra, Princess, & Tiger)

I had two of this color (this one is Sparrow):

Even though I think my older EE pullets/hens are beautiful, I wanted to add some new colors. I ordered 25 EEs from MPC, sold the brown ones, and kept the unusual colored EEs for myself.

These are my newest EEs - 10 week old chicks (pics taken today):

Edited to add - the 4 that are laying all lay either green or mint colored eggs (see my avatar for pic)
