Please excuse the poor quality pics , I can get better ones tomorrow after the batteries charge .
This is a cockeral that's 5 weeks today . I'm guessing he's changing to that silver pattern with dark laced white hackles , dark tail , and red shoulders and wing shading you see on many EE roosters . Are the charcoal colors simply the phaze he's going through [ as I suspect ] or is he carrying the blue feather color gene ?

And one more cockeral that I can't get to stay still for a pic except while he's in the feeder

V I think he'll be a red partridge V

The white in the above pic is a 5 week old cockeral that will be used on the EE and white laced red cornish [ if his size doesn't prevent it ] . He's been feather pecked by two of the WLRC cockerals ; he is just now starting to defend himself and they back off pretty quick when he confronts them on their bad manners

ETA: The red and white chicks in those pics are the White Laced Red Cornish .

This is my new EE chick. My friend gave her to me. She ordered them sexed so I know she is a pullet. Any idea on what color she'll turn out to be? Any name ideas?

Looks to be the laced partridge ; you'll find alot of them on these pages , I believe all of my pullets are that color .​

Thanks! Will EE lay just green eggs, or can they lay blue brown etc?

each individual bird only lays one color, that color could range anywhere from blues, greens, browns or pinks
cute baby, and I would say steve is right on the color

Hey steve - lot's of EE's don't get their beards back until 15 weeks or so. I had one that just sprouted hers two days ago, I was shocked as I was about to cull her too.

she's a cutie. how about cinnamon? or maybe play with the partridge family theme a bit: Shirley, Susan/Laurie, Tracy?​
