She's a she. And if her comb is starting to turn pink, she might be getting close to POL. I'd say give it a month and then start looking for a colored egg!

Thank you for the comments on my pictures of Jemima. I get nervous when I read how hard it is to sex these EE's. I'll be heartbroken if I have to rehome this sweetie. Everyone's EE's are so beautiful and so varied. This is a great thread.

Can anyone tell me if there is a reliable way to figure out whether an EE is a pullet or a roo before attempted crowing? Mine are 8 weeks old now, so maybe I'll find out soon. But anyhow, can anyone tell me if there's a good way? They're from a hatchery and are supposed to be pullets, but you know how that goes.

He is mouth wateringly stunning.

Why thank you very much! Last year I had no intention of getting Ameraucanas. And a friend tell me to bid on PiPs & PeePs Auction on EGGBID, and got the parents to these for $15 plus shippin. And these two are my very first I hatched. Cause Jean is a good friend of one of my best poultry pals, I couldn't resist. Now I know why. I am glad I did get them eggs
