The EE braggers thread!!!

They're both from Cackle hatchery, we drove down, picked them up and drove back. We originally bought 5 but gave 3 away to another BYC member. Most of the 5 had colors similar to Goldilocks (at least from what we could tell at the time).

This is their baby shot right after we got them home.

Do easter eggers always lay the same color egg or can a hen lay a blue egg one day and a pink egg the next?

I never have the same number of each color in my laying boxes two days in a row and occassionally I'll have either a bluish pink or a brownish blue egg show up. I thought I would just ask before I began separating my hens to figure out which ones lay which eggs.

Thanks,

Yes, they always lay the same color egg.

But the color fades over the course of their laying cycle. A lot of my hens who lay a gorgeous blue/green egg at the beginning are, at the moment, laying basically white eggs. But the change is pretty gradual, so from one day to the next it's not likely to look like a different hen layed the eggs. Good luck!

Oh my, there are some beautiful birds on this thread! I love my 3 Easter Eggers. They are just the sweetest girls. Two lay the prettiest light blueish green eggs, and one lays a pale pink egg.

I have had about enough broodies this year! Oh my! NOW, one of the EE gals is broody! She is sitting on wooden eggs.

I really do not have any eggs that I want to hatch right now, other than the ones in my incubator. I guess I could grab a couple out of there and give to her.

Braclin: I need that rooster to go with my EE hens I got from Cackle. They are white with red trimmings each hen just a little different from each other. They wouls make some more of the blue red (Wheaten) colors.
