The EE braggers thread!!!

becstalls
Has anyone here ever tried to breed some size into their EE's? I'm wanting to create a dual purpose bird that lays blue eggs--or at least a variety of egg colors.

Not yet. I'm gonna try it later, 1st of all because mine are too young right now and 2nd I want to get some full EE's before I start mixing them. I'm going to try a Cochin cross, a Jersey Giant cross, Speckled Sussex Cross, and a Brahma cross at different times to see if I can't get bigger EE's.

One of the nicest EE crosses I have seen is one crossed with an Orloff. Some one posted pictures not too long ago on one of the threads. Sorry, I don't remember which one.

Those look like the color of my EE hens, I just a rooster that looks like yours so that I can get more of those. I have had more people say that they like those (colors) even though they aren't EE fans.

I'll be working on that this fall ; crossing the broad breasted , heavy framed Cornish Rock meat chickens [ aka Jumbo Cornish ] with EE and Ameraucana .

chickenman! you're going to make me go out and get my camera from the car. he has BEAUTIFUL wing patterns. I'm hoping to cross him to some of my olive egger hens next spring and try to duplicate the pattern and the dark eggs.
