Don't know about the color, but about the olive egger, it is my understanding if they carry the blue egg gene from the mom and have a marans dad they should lay olive eggs.

I would like to make some barred EEs, what would be the best way to go about it and what barred breed would you recommend? I have roos and hens that are EE, but not sure if it'll be better to use the EE roo or hen to make the first cross.

You need a BR roo or hen and a Blue or Black Ameraucana hen or roo.

With all of the color combinations that EEs throw out it would be real hard but good luck.

A barred rooster, either a BR or a Cuckoo Marans, over any color EE hen should produce some barred chicks. There will be some variations depending on what genes your hen is carrying but select the offspring that show the best barring and whatever desired color you want and continue breeding from there.
