Question, what colors were they as chicks? and what kind of comb would you say they have??

Red is one of these, all I know for sure is he is not the palest one to the top right:

Thanks for the reply Cats Critters,

I am always curious about what they looked like as chicks. They are both handsome boys. I want an EE roo, I have 5 EE 2 week old chicks but they were out of the pullet bin, am secretly hoping one is a boy but I wont be sad if they are all in fact pullets LOL

I have also just started zooming in on the combs on the EE's.

Beautiful roos!

I wish more people would see the photo of Red as a youngster. The misconception that any red EE with barring on its wings is a pullet is a very common misconception here on BYC. I've found that this "method" only works 50% of the time...just like flipping a coin

Oh yeah he played mind games with me for awhile, it took me along time to figure him out. Unfortunately out of those 4 EE chicks the other 3 where killed by a raccoon the night I brought him in to try to fix his toe, so I didn't get a pretty girl from that batch. I did have another one who was pure white who was a hen but white isn't quite as pretty.

Oh and Red is Chipmunk's son.

The BR/EE roos are very interesting, I sort of like the random flecks of red in there too. This is why I just love the EE's so many color combo's. I also have 6 year old EE hens of all different colors, the 5-2 week old chicks will add to my EE flock because I like them so much. I also have other breeds but EE's are my fav.
